They will not absorb odour or support the growth of mould, fungus or bacteria. They use natural beech wood beads that are untreated to avoid allergens and sensitivities - you can choose to add your own oil and wax if you choose or leave them just the way they are. Breakaway safety clasps also release when tugged sharply.
