While this shower head doesn't have many of the features of those heads available at Costco or other similar big box wholesale stores, it certainly looks like a million bucks. We have water softeners (a main contributor to the long term appeal of this head) so we don't get any scale or water spots on the shower head. It still shines like a million bucks. Don't blame the head for your poor water quality - as many reviewers have done on here. Shiny chromed plastic/metal parts need good water or high maintenance to shine.Features - dual head spray, single head spray (removable or larger head only) -- soft spray jet, strong jet, and weird massage-but-not-massage spray ++ pause button that SUCKS if you have a hot water re-circulation pump...(more on this later)For starters - I did not test this with the flow restricting device; I removed it immediately. However, in hindsight, I should have done a comparison. The insert was NOT easy to remove on my unit, but that may vary by how it's pressed in at the factory. I took it out without incident and threw the unit together and slapped it on my water line. Took all of about 5 minutes as I took extra care to wrap the parts in a cloth as to protect them from tool marring.Shower head pulls a TON of water without the restricting insert. WOW. I can drain my water heater in about 10 minutes as opposed to my previous head which took me about 20 minutes. It does have a high rate of spray and will get your walls wet above what you're normally used to. The removable head is magnetically aligned and seated into the larger head and will fall out if not seated properly. We have a water pipe hanging shower caddie - this does not make for easy seating of the removable head. We have had it fall and the high-pressure water spray everywhere while giving the kids showers. It makes for a good laugh...the first time. The dual head mode is great for good water coverage, but it will effectively increase your water consumption by 40%. It doesn't have as many orifices as the removable head, but it will reduce the pressure of both heads. The box states it gives more even heat distribution, but it will reduce the heat concentration in order to even it out. It makes sense from a heat transfer standpoint, so you just need to turn up your hot water, and thus, reduce your shower time because you've increased the hot water flow rate by x*40%.The pause button is great for saving water. BUT, if your farthest point of return - on the hot water side - is in your bathroom, you're going to get pure hot water when you unpause the shower head. You'll have to understand how a hot water pump works in order to wrap your head around it - or you can just take my word for it. I guess this is true with any shower head you pause - but I felt like mentioning it so that you don't blast yourself with incredibly high pressure, boiling hot water.Great shower head overall. I am happy with it. Disappointed with the lack of usable features, but it's worth the trade off for the extra water coverage and aesthetics.
